Bakit ko sya gusto? Iisa-isahin ko:
1. Dahil ang kantang ito ay nagpapaalala sa aking ng new wave era. Ganun kase ang dating nya. Para bang rock na ballad na dance na hindi mo maintindihan. Parang pinaghalong tunog ng New Order, U2, Echo & The Bunnymen na may bahid ni Bruce Springsteen.
2. Naalala ko ang aking kabataan.. Noong myembro pa ako ng isang banda, na sa kasamaang palad eh kasikatan lang sa reunion party ng mga kamag-anak ang narating bwahahaha! Pero uhmmmm, bigla ako nag-nostalgia trip. Kung tinuloy siguro namin ang bandang yun at medyo sumikat kami, isa ito sa mga songs na ginagawan namin ng covers ngayon. Hmmmm.. Pwede!
3. Gusto ko rin ang lyrics nya. Unang dinig ko, medyo nawindang ako.. ‘ARE WE HUMAN? OR ARE WE DANCER?’ Parang mali di ba? May mga ibang tao pa nga na sinasabing hindi raw ‘dancer’ yan kundi ‘DENSER’.. Ah eh mali sila dyan dahil lalong nawalan ng sense ang kanta kung ‘denser’ ang ginamit na salita. At isa pa, mismong si Brandon Flowers (the band’s vocalist) ang nagsabing ‘dancer’ sya, kaya manahimik na ang mga nag-mamagaling. Babalikan ko ang lyrics maya maya.

It’s been a year since I started sharing my mixes. In that span of time, I have shared 21 mixes already. Lahat ng ‘yan buong puso kong inialay sa mga taong interesado at gustong pakinggan ang iba’t-ibang klase ng ‘mixed dance music’ na nilikha ng isang DJ na tulad ko. Hindi maitatanggi na maraming tao din naman akong napasaya at may mga matang naimulat sa ganda at appeal ng Electronic Dance Music o EDM.
Sa kasamaang palad, may ilang tao na inabuso ang aking pagiging mapagbigay. If you search google for “DJ Robin Mendoza – Tiestofied”, babagsak kayo sa iba’t-ibang download sites. Yung iba ilegal, yung iba may bayad. This particular mix is just an example. Madami pa yang kumalat, and in fact a friend from the Philippines told me he saw a couple of my mixes being sold at bangketas and stalls somewhere in the University belt.. DJ Tiesto, the world’s greatest DJ (arguably) will be coming back to Manila on April 19, 2008 for the “ELEMENTS OF LIFE: Asia Pacific Tour”. This will be Tiesto’s 2nd visit to the country.

Of being the only (I think) Pinoy Blog that shares the talent of a real life DJ and shares original mixed compilations for free, at the same time ranting and raving about personal stuff. SQUELCH is a mixed compilation of aggressive, deep, dark, fierce, filthy and pumping tracks guaranteed to make you dance. Sa tagalog.. Agresibo, Malalim, Maitim, Matapang, Madumi at Bumabayo.. Parang ako nyahahahaha! I have shared this mix recently to a non-clubber, and after listening to the mix, the words “DAMN! Ang galing! Kahit di ako marunong sumayaw, napapasayaw ako wooohoooooooo!” were said. I’m pretty sure you will react and utter words somewhere along these lines when you hear it (winks)
Squelch is my favorite mix right now. Hindi lang dahil ito ang pinakabago. Dahil na rin sa ito talaga ang type ng Electronic Music na gusto kong patugtugin, in case na active pa ako sa pagiging DJ.

I was recently invited by a local FM radio station to guest on their weekly Friday show, which highlights the DJing skills of locals and expatriates alike. Yes oh yes. Middle East man ito, madami din aspiring DJs at Electronica Music lovers dito. The station I知 talking about is Hi-FM. This is no ordinary Muscat based Radio station. It is being managed and run by people from London, who I heard were once connected to Ministry Of Sound and BBC Radio. These people know what clubbing music is all about I tell you. The station will have its official launching sometime in March, and a big Rave or party or whatever you may want to call it is being organized to coincide with the launch. They will be flying-in world renowned DJs and regional artists and guess what.. I am on the list, and will be playing alongside them hehe. Hindi man ako sumikat at gumawa ng pangalan sa pinas, malay nyo.. Baka madiscover ako dito at maging daan ito para sa aking pag-yaman nyahahahaha! Kase yung mga mixes ko free eh.. Wala ako nakukuha kahit singkong duling hmmmp!
